Pink and Purple Butterfly Birthday

Yay!  Little Madelyn, my niece turned one! This weekend we put together the SWEETEST pink and purple, butterfly birthday party!  Happy Birthday Madelyn!

Madelyn with her larger than life lollipop!
The theme for the party was chosen by Madelyn's dad back in July when mom took over the planning of their son's 2nd birthday.  We've been coming up with ideas since then and just this week ended up putting it all together.  Because it was going to be a smaller party, I decided against doing a cake.  But what would a dessert table be without a cake centerpiece?  So I decided to make a cake out of some of the Styrofoam cake dummies I had.  Mom really liked the last butterfly cake I made so that is what inspired this cake.  I also made my first Etsy purchase from Sugar Robot - The little edible wafer paper butterflies were the perfect finishing touch on this pink and purple creation!

We thought it would be fun to put together a SWEET table for a very SWEET little girl.  Even the paper used for the butterfly garland was made with paper embellished with cupcakes, candy, and chocolate!  Making these garlands are so easy with my Silhouette SD!  And I even made my own food tents this time!  I was so excited to find the perfect matching purple and pink ribbons!

On the SWEET table there were banana split cupcakes (a moist banana cupcake topped with strawberry buttercream, chocolate sauce and a cherry), chocolate dipped rice crispy treats, chocolate covered pretzels, classic rock candy, bubble gum, grape licorice, sixlets, lollipops, and water to wash it all down! Party guests were also given little goodie bags to take home the sweets.  Also on the brunch menu were fresh fruit kabobs, quiche, and a mixed greens salad.

Yum! The pretzels were so good!

Rock Candy is so pretty!
A favorite amongst the young guests.
The banana split cupcakes were a perfect addition.
Custom water bottle labels.
Of course there was pink lemonade!
