My First Wedding Tasting

A friend of mine from back in the day referred me to a couple in Virginia looking for a small wedding cake or cupcakes for their early October wedding. Thanks Julie! I was excited to be able to offer them a tasting this past weekend. The first step involved them taking a look through this blog to see what I have done before and then they told me all the little things they liked from various projects. Before the tasting they decided that 2 flavors they would like to try were Lemon and then something with a white cake with raspberry jam. Because this is for a wedding, I wanted to step it up a notch - Here is what I presented:

Limencello Cupcakes with Marscapone and Cream Cheese Frosting - I added Limencello to both the cupcake batter and the frosting! I also made half the recipe with straight lemon juice to test out the flavors. Next time, I think I will add more of the Limencello. I went a little light because I didn't want the frosting to be too runny.
Godiva White Chocolate Cupcakes with Buttercream Frosting - I added Ghiredelli White chocolate shavings to all the cupcakes and Godiva White Chocolate liquor to half. Then I made two seperate buttercream frostings to try - one vanilla and one with the Godiva White Chocolate Liquor - These cupcakes were filled using the "cone" method with raspberry preserves.
