Wedding Inspiration Board

I am helping to coordinate the last minute details of a wedding taking place on Sunday, November 2nd. The wedding will held on the Odyssey (Part of the Entertainment Cruise Company) in the evening. The bride has most of her planning done and I will mostly be the day of coordinator. In addition to keeping things organized that day, I will be making the centerpieces and helping with other room decor like candles and the gift table. The bride has chosen black magic roses as her flower so I will be making centerpieces with glass rectangle vases for the long, narrow tables. The pictures here are for inspiration. It includes many items that throughout our discussions I heard her mention so I pulled all the ideas together to begin to narrow down our choices.

Final ideas to be posted soon...

Baptism Cake

This past weekend was my nephew's baptism. Here is my first stacked tier cake. It was a vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream and raspberry preserves inside. To decorate I used fondant and royal icing. The outer layer of butter cream did not "crust" like I would have liked it to in order to create a smoother finish however, I think it still looked nice.

Triple Chocolate Birthday Cake

This was my final cake for the fondant and gum paste class. It was a triple chocolate birthday cake I made for my brother in law. The chocolate cake was a recipe from Warren Brown's Cake Love Book and the Chocolate Butter cream recipe I used was the most delicious frosting ever. I covered the cake in a chocolate marshmallow fondant. It was really rich!
