Made to Order Diaper Cakes - Prices

Diapers Cakes are made to order. I would coordinate with you the colors, theme, and items being used on the cake based on the total price you want to spend.

Below are base prices which include:
  • Diapers (Pampers Swaddlers)
  • Round Cake Board
  • Doilies
  • Basic Ribbon, Rubber Bands, and Dowels (to hold it all together)
Base Price
$35.00 for 40-50 Diapers
$55.00 for 60-70 Diapers
$75.00 for 80-90 Diapers
$100.00+ for 100+ Diapers

The number of diapers used would depend on the "gifts" being placed inside each layer. For example, onsies or bibs can be rolled up in place of diapers. This would decrease the number of diapers used. (see below). In addition to gifts for the mommy to be, diaper cakes make great centerpieces. (contact for pricing)

Positive Feedback!

Thanks to everyone for viewing my blog...and especially to my mother who forwarded it to everyone she knew =) The following things have been suggested:
  • Tell people they can click on the pictures to enlarge them-Apparently the fruit displays made my father's mouth water!
  • Explain which items you will take orders for - I'll take orders for anything...But it would have to be practical with regards to shipping/delivery! For example, I can't make a fruit tray and ship it to Buffalo!
  • Include prices - I'll work on these and get them posted as soon as possible.
  • Also for further clarification - I'm not a professional caterer which means that I do not get items at wholesale costs nor do I carry any insurance.

Diaper Cakes - Yes, they are made from diapers!

These are my latest "craft" I guess you would call them! Diaper Cakes! 100% made from diapers so they are not edible! My sister is having a baby this summer and I came across these creations on-line and figured, I could do that! So, since finding out she was pregnant and one of my bestest friends from high school, I have been making these.

I can only put pictures of the one I have actually given away so far since the others are gifts still to come.

These make a great gift for new mommies to be! They can be loaded with fun stuff for the baby.

Items that I have included in some of my cakes are:
  • Onesies
  • Bibs
  • Towels, washcloths, blankets
  • Bottles
  • Pacifiers
  • Stuffed animals
  • Toys
  • Rattles
  • Bath products
I will take orders so tell all your friends and family!

Back Yard Wedding Reception

My sister was just recently married in the Dominican Republic so when we thought of having a wedding reception back home in my parents back yard the theme was easy! We did everything in aqua blue and brought the island elements into everything from the centerpieces to the large pineapple palm tree (pictures below).

In addition to preparing a slide show of the actual wedding for guests who were unable to travel, I put the following together:
  • Take away items were beach themed pictures frames with island pictures of the bride and group of course
  • Table centerpieces were made with sand, seashells, beach glass, star fish, fishing net, and candles.
  • Fruit kabobs complete with a three foot pineapple palm tree!

My Wedding Money Savers!

The costs associated with having the perfect wedding day are crazy. This is why we did as much as we could ourselves. Not only did we save money (to be spent on items like the H2 Limo) but we added that personal touch to the day!

Items that we did ourselves included:
  • Over 200 candles throughout the reception site
    • Tall pillar candles embellished with ribbon and calla lilies
    • Small pillar candles embellished with ribbon and pearls
    • Tea lights embellished with ribbon and calla lilies
  • Artificial bouquets for the bridesmaids - I embellished these with monogrammed charms as well as monogrammed Mikasa Vases (from the Calla Lily collection)
  • Reception Program
Guest Book - Was a frame with a large matting for all guests to sign. It now hangs proudly on our living room wall.

During the spring of 2006 I helped my sister plan her destination wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. All of the stationary used was created by me and included:

  • Table Cards and Itineraries while in DR
  • Invitations and Response Cards for the reception in Buffalo

Sister's Bridal Shower in February

One of my first "events" that I planned and catered was my younger sister's bridal shower. We had about 20 guests at my place and we went with a pink love theme since it was the day after Valentines Day.

The favor was a small bud vase from Crate and Barrel embellished with a silver charm and pink bow. We included a small pink tulip. These favors also helped decorate the rooms!

Items on the menu included:
  • Ham and leek quiche with 3 cheeses
  • Zucchini and sundried tomato quiche with cheese
  • Strawberry fields salad with feta and almonds, served with a balsamic vinaigrette
  • Assorted bagels and pastries
  • Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla butter cream frosting and homemade milk chocolate hearts
  • Raspberry sherbet punch

Bridal Shower in May

In May of 2006, I catered various elements of a bridal shower. I supplied the assorted fruit and cheese platters, punch, and the cupcakes. The cupcakes were very vanilla with vanilla butter cream frosting. Some were decorated with homemade milk chocolate hearts while others had fresh raspberries and mint.

The assorted fruit display consisted of:

  • Pineapple
  • Cantaloupe
  • Honeydew
  • Watermelon
  • Various berries and citrus for garnish.
The assorted cheese display consisted of:

  • Brie
  • Sharp aged cheddar
  • Gruyere
  • Colby Jack
  • Assortment of crackers and fruit garnish
